MONITORING CENTER "A CONTINUATION OF EXCELLENCE"

“This is the Monitoring Center, we see that you have entered an exclusion area, you are in direct violation of your parole, your supervising officer will be notified"

Sandy, Utah - For thousands of offenders across the country this is a familiar reminder of their limited freedom.  “Think of it like tough love, the Monitoring Center constantly reminds the offender of what they should be doing, keeping on the path of reform and change,” said James Dalton president of RemoteMDx.

The Monitoring Center features Instant Violation Intervention. When an offender has violated a specific restriction set by their supervising officer and the Monitoring Center operators respond in real time.  “The TrackerPAL™ [program] helps build a pattern of responsibility for our juveniles. It has become a meaningful deterrent for the juvenile while in the program and after the juvenile has been released,” says Cheatham County, TN.

While restricting and holding offenders accountable, the Monitoring Center gives new freedom to law enforcement agencies. “Other products require time in front of a computer, but with Monitoring Center I can spend the majority of my time away from my desk. Whether on stakeouts or while doing other investigative work, I know the Monitoring Center has my back,” said Citrus County Florida.  Agencies customize their experience by creating offender specific protocols that outline when offenders and officers are notified.  “Our Monitoring is the core and center of our solution,” states Dave McNamee, technical director for SecureAlert. “We set the bar high for our operators, requiring extensive training and a high standard of performance,” he continued.

In fact Monitoring Center operators go through 80 hours of classroom training and mentoring, which includes special education on offender behavior taught by law enforcement officials.  Once the operator has been certified they are evaluated 20-25 times per week and must maintain a standard of 95% accuracy or higher.  Training is also ongoing; the operator is required to have 5 hours of ongoing training per month.  “We care about our operators, they our the face of the Company – They are response specialists on the front lines, mistakes are not an option.  Yes we require a lot, but we also provide a path for them to grow within the Company,” continued McNamee.

NEW CENTER IN THE PLANING STAGES
When asked about the future of the Monitoring Center McNamee grins as he explains the expansion plan.  “We need to work on two fronts, first we need to increase the automation and an expansion of the physical space,” said McNamee.

The new center will be offender centric – a highly technical system of managing offenders not alarms.  When an offender is in violation there may be several alarms sent to the Monitoring Center – one for the initial violation and then subsequent alarms as the violation progresses.  Under the new system the all the subsequent alarms will be sent to the operator who responds to the initial alarm.  One operator will handle the entire event, increasing efficiency and quality.   The new center will consist of a layout that accommodates 50 advisor and 10 technical support stations.  The new center will be able to service several additional products as well.
